TRANSCRIÇÃO DO ÁUDIO: O projeto, nesse primeiro momento, intitulado Joia Rara, ele é um projeto onde a atriz Maria Ruth terá como base e norte o livro chamado “Idosidade”, da escritora e ativista Lenny Blue. Porque são histórias, crônicas de vivência enquanto mulher negra, enquanto mulher em maior idade, com mais experiência e as possibilidades que as trocas entre os griots podem ocorrer.
A Maria Ruth no ano de 2026, ingressa em uma escola pública de teatro, onde é o sonho dela se contemplar enquanto atriz, mesmo ela já sendo uma atriz maravilhosa. E aí essa possibilidade de cruzar esses processos, o fazer artístico dela, indo de encontro com o meu fazer artístico, que é um fazer artístico um pouco mais jovem, mas também com muito entusiasmo, com muita possibilidade.

E aí, tendo como base o livro da Lenny Blue, a gente transformar, cênicamente, as crônicas que a Leni traz no livro dela, “Idosidade”. Então, nesse primeiro momento, o projeto tem esse título singelo, joia rara, mas que traz um peso, que traz história, que traz vivências maravilhosas.

Transcripton: In this initial phase, the project titled Joia Rara centers on the actress Maria Ruth, who takes as her foundation and guiding reference the book Idosidade, by writer and activist Lenny Blue. The book brings together stories and chronicles of lived experience as a Black woman, as an older woman, as someone with greater life experience — and explores the possibilities of exchange between griots.

In 2026, Maria Ruth enrolls in a public theater school, fulfilling her dream of recognizing herself as an actress — even though she is already a wonderful actress. This creates the possibility of crossing her artistic practice with mine — a practice that is somewhat younger, but equally full of enthusiasm and possibility.

Using Lenny Blue’s book as a foundation, we aim to transform the chronicles from Idosidade into a scenic language. In this first moment, the project carries the simple title Joia Rara, yet it holds great weight — history, memory, and powerful lived experiences. That’s it.

O encontro entre a multiartista Maria Rute com a atriz Mollis durante um processo seletivo de curso de teatro possibilitou uma fenda de fazeres artísticos. O conhecimento das mais mais e a sagacidade das mais novas traz para o mundo histórias, memórias e o tempo maturado. Maria Rute aos 68 anos se tornou estudante de teatro, mesmo tendo vasto conhecimento artístico. Mollis recebe o convite/chamado para o desconhecido que é mais próximo do que ela imaginava.

Short biography

The encounter between the multidisciplinary artist Maria Rute and the actress Mollis during a theater course selection process opened a new path of artistic creation. The knowledge of the elders and the sharpness of the younger generation bring into the world stories, memories, and matured time.

At 68 years old, Maria Rute became a theater student, despite her vast artistic knowledge. Mollis accepted the invitation — a calling into the unknown that was closer than she had imagined.
