Sinopse
“A Procura de Si” é uma investigação cênica criada a partir de trajetórias pessoais de corpos pretos e dissidentes, ancorada em memórias, afetos e violências sofridas e vividas. Tendo o cabelo como mote simbólico e político, a obra revela vestígios que suscitam teorias e conceitos sobre o teatro negro em suas diversas instâncias, em sentidos múltiplos e polifônicos. A cena se estrutura como encruzilhada, lugar onde os encontros são travados, entrecruzados e negociados.
Synopsis
“A Procura de Si” is a scenic investigation created from the personal trajectories of Black and dissident bodies, anchored in memories, affections, and experienced violences. With hair as a symbolic and political motif, the work reveals traces that give rise to theories and concepts about Black theater in its multiple instances, meanings, and polyphonic voices. The scene is structured as a crossroads—a place where encounters are confronted, intertwined, and negotiated.

TRANSCRIÇÃO DO ÁUDIO: Olá, pessoal do Farofa. Aqui é o Jota Júnior, do Grupo Pavilhão da Magnólia, de Fortaleza, Ceará. Estou integrando o projeto “A Procura de Si”.
Faremos uma abertura de processo com vocês e vamos poder mostrar um pouco como anda a pesquisa, o que estamos descobrindo no corpo e na cena desse trabalho, que tem como signo o cabelo, para aproximar memórias, políticas, atravessamentos de corpos negros, afro-indígenas, dissidentes.
Que dramaturgias pessoais e coletivas emergem a partir desse signo.
Esse trabalho ele integra o Laboratório de Criação Porto Iracema e nos possibilitou novos encontros com dois criadores que são o Jé de Oliveira e o Johnny Salaberg que estaram nessa encruza conosco e logo mais estaremos dividindo com vocês aí.

I am part of the project Looking for me.
We will be sharing a process opening with you, where we’ll present how the research is unfolding — what we have been discovering in the body and on stage in this work, which takes hair as its central signifier to bring together memories, politics, and the crossings of Black, Afro-Indigenous, and dissident bodies. What personal and collective dramaturgies emerge from this sign?
This work is part of the Porto Iracema Creation Laboratory and has enabled new encounters with two artists, Jé de Oliveira and Johnny Salaberg, who will be in this crossroads with us. Soon, we’ll be sharing it all with you. See you soon. Axé.

O Grupo Pavilhão da Magnólia atua desde 2005 na cidade de Fortaleza com a linguagem teatral a partir do conceito de teatro de grupo e articula criação, pesquisa, formação e difusão, aliando prática artística, reflexão ética e atuação política no campo cultural. Em 20 anos, já realizou 1.400 apresentações em 100 cidades, de 19 estados brasileiros e 02 países (Cuba e Portugal) e no 35º Prêmio Shell de Teatro (2025) foi agraciado na categoria Destaque Nacional com o espetáculo A Força da Água.
Short biography
Grupo Pavilhão da Magnólia has been active since 2005 in the city of Fortaleza, working with theatrical language based on the concept of group theater and articulating creation, research, training, and circulation, combining artistic practice, ethical reflection, and political action in the cultural field. Over 20 years, the group has presented 1,400 performances in 100 cities across 19 Brazilian states and two countries (Cuba and Portugal). At the 35th Shell Theater Awards (2025), the group was honored in the National Highlight category with the performance A Força da Água.
