Sinopse

Uma criação compartilhada entre os artistas Andreia Pires, do Ceara, e Marcelo Evelin, do Piauí. Partindo do desejo de dividir um espaço fora de qualquer tempo e dançar a vida das formas, os dois criadores e performers se aventuram em um engancho coreográfico, colapsando condições performáticas em constante fuga e desaparecimento.

Synopsis

A shared creation between the artists Andreia Pires, from Ceará, and Marcelo Evelin, from Piauí. Driven by the desire to share a space outside of any fixed time and to dance the life of forms, the two creators and performers venture into a choreographic entanglement, collapsing performative conditions in constant flight and disappearance.

TRANSCRIÇÃO DO ÁUDIO: Olá, sou Andreia Pires, tenho trabalhado com Marcelo Evelim num projeto, processo, espetáculo, não sei, chamado Favor Divino. Inicialmente a gente trabalhou numa residência, no estúdio da Demolition Incorporada, num projeto do Campo, em Teresina, de onde Marcelo é. E a gente começou todo o trabalho numa relação muito simples, muito bruta, muito de olhar para o que o corpo tem de disponível, interessadas numa ideia de pensar a vida das formas, essa expressão que Marcelo ouviu de Eleonora e que moveu um pouco o seu pensamento, que é um título do livro do Henri Focillon.

E a gente também ficou interessada em pensar um pouco que dança é essa que foge à posse do significado, uma dança fora do tempo, uma dança que foge à relação de poder que a gente dá na construção de história, da história da humanidade, história do mundo, história da civilização.

Enfim, como fugir um pouco dessas organizações históricas e construir algo bruto a partir daquilo que se tem ali, com a nossa forma, estudo das formas da nossa corporeidade e que espíritos, né?

E é uma dança que a gente se encontra, eu e Marcelo, escavando, né? Cavando buracos e escavando materialidades diferentes, distintas, que possam alimentar ali o nosso movimento, a nossa coreografia a ser compartilhada. E a gente faz agora na Farofa de Processo, que a gente tá super feliz, vamos apresentar no dia 11 de março, em duas apresentações, uma às 22 e uma às 24 horas. E ficamos entusiasmados com essa possibilidade de abrir a nossa caverna para que pessoas possam entrar. Então é isso! Beijo e até lá!

Transcription: Hello, I’m Andreia Pires. I’ve been working with Marcelo Evelin on a project — a process, a performance, we’re not quite sure — called Favor Divino. Initially, we worked during a residency at the Demolition Incorporada studio, as part of a CAMPO project in Teresina, Marcelo’s hometown. We began the work through a very simple, very raw relationship — looking at what the body has available, interested in the idea of thinking about the life of forms. This expression, which Marcelo heard from Eleonora and which stirred his thinking, is also the title of a book by Henri Focillon.

We also became interested in asking: what kind of dance escapes the possession of meaning? A dance outside of time. A dance that escapes the power structures embedded in the construction of history — the history of humanity, of the world, of civilization. In other words, how can we move away from these historical organizations and build something raw from what is already there — from our forms, from the study of the forms of our corporeality — and from the spirits they evoke?They evoke, right?
Our spirits evoke. They evoke.

It is a dance in which Marcelo and I meet by excavating — digging holes, uncovering distinct materialities that can nourish our movement, the choreography we wish to share. We are now presenting it at Farofa de Processo, which makes us very happy. We will perform on March 11, in two sessions: one at 10 p.m. and another at midnight. We’re excited about the possibility of opening our cave so that people can enter. That’s it! A kiss, and see you there!

Marcelo Evelin é bailarino, coreografo e pesquisador e Doutor Honoris Causa pela Universidade Federal do Piaui. Vive entre Teresina e Amsterdam e trabalha como artista independente a frente da Plataforma Demolition Incorporada, sediada no CAMPO. Ensina na Escola Superior de Artes de Amsterdam e em universidades internacionais. Andreia Pires é performer, diretora, coreógrafa, preparadora de elenco e Mestre em artes pela Universidade Federal do Ceará. Dirigiu e roteirizou diversos filmes e espetáculos, dando destaque para narrativas com protagonismos que emergem dos coletivos. Integra a Inquieta Cia., em Fortaleza-Ce.

Short biography

Marcelo Evelin is a dancer, choreographer, researcher, and Doctor Honoris Causa from the Federal University of Piauí. He lives between Teresina and Amsterdam and works as an independent artist leading Plataforma Demolition Incorporada, based at CAMPO. He teaches at the Amsterdam University of the Arts and at international universities.

Andreia Pires is a performer, director, choreographer, acting coach, and holds a Master’s degree in Arts from the Federal University of Ceará. She has directed and written several films and stage works, highlighting narratives centered on collective protagonism. She is a member of Inquieta Cia., based in Fortaleza, Ceará.
